Base

Mast

Slewing Unit

Weight Load

Concrete Foundation
It seems puzzling to see a tower crane stand upright. One thing that helps it stand and function with the efficiency is the concrete foundation at its base which is supposed to be built by the construction company. This foundation is about 30x30x4 feet in measurements and weighs 400,000 in pounds. This bulky concrete makes up for the foundation of the tower crane.
Tower cranes are assembled on site with the help of installers that are sent with it. First, the jib is assembled which is then attached to the mast (at 40 feet during assembling). After that the counterweights are attached with some weight on the other side to balance it out. Only then does the mast rises up in the sky without any mishap.
